North Atlanta Multisport Club - April 2011

Greg's Corner April Social Events

Greg After a great practice session at our April meeting, its time to look forward to our first club race- The Inaugural PT Solutions Cartersville Duathlon! We plan to be out there in force to support you with the club tent, banner, cowbell, and lots of noise! Come see us before and after the race. After the race we will enjoy some BBQ and fellowship at Williamson Brothers BBQ in Canton. Please let us know if you plan on joining us so we can get a BIG table!

After much feedback and a year of learning, your officers have worked very hard to improve the club for 2011. We have a new website with lots of great built in functions, better communication, more social events, more interactive meetings, meeting topics based on popular requests, cool new ringer t-shirts, and more weekly workouts. This hard work means nothing without your participation, so If you want to lead a group workout, come out and help at club functions, become a mentor to a new member, or just pay your dues and come out to meetings and club races it will only make this club stronger. We want to continue to grow and become better for our members and community. If you have any suggestions please free to send me a message: greg@atltri.com

Group Workouts in Full Force North Atlanta Multisport Club Survey

BradThe Tuesday Night Roswell Ride has officially begun.  We had great rides the first two weeks!  Every Tuesday we meet at 6pm.  In addition to the traditional ride from the Community Activity Center at Roswell Area Park, we have also introduced a new beginner option that leaves from Riverside Dr.  This new route is a great option for beginners who have never been on the road or in a group ride.  For more information about either Tuesday Night Ride each week, click here.

Fun Friday Swim with Stephanie - Every Friday at 5am swim at Lifetime Fitness Mountain Brook with Stephanie.  Stephanie provides a different workout each week and generally has a long course and short course version.

Sunday Run with Katie -  Every Sunday morning you have the opportunity to run at various spots in and around Alpharetta with Katie and her Wisconsin Ironman training crew.  Be sure to visit the website each Saturday and check the location of the Sunday Run for that week.

Other Group Workouts - Some new Weekend Group Rides/Runs will be scheduled soon.  Check the club website frequently for information on these upcoming workouts by clicking here.

If you get a chance please come out and swim, bike or run with us.  Your participation and smiling/sweating faces are really what makes it a worthwhile club.  Also, make sure to check our Facebook page and Club Forum for any workouts that members may be doing each week.   -Justin

We want to know what you want out of your triathlon club.  Now you can tell us!  NAMC has created a survey to help it determine exactly what athletes want in a local triathlon club.  We want as many people as possible to take this survey, especially if you are a current member, used to be a member or you just thought our site was cool and wanted to find out more about us.  We value your feedback and would appreciate it if you would take 3-5 minutes to complete the survey.  The responses are anonymous and will only be used to help us create an even better experience for our members.

We have started receiving responses and appreciate the great feedback.  The more responses we receive, the better club we can develop.  You will start to see some changes being made that address some of the responses we've received.  However, we want more! So please take the survey by clicking here.

April 2011 Meeting Recap  Congratulations to Cindi Rutledge our
March 2011 Athlete of the Month!
Bill

Our April meeting was held on April 7th, 2011 at Riverside Park.  Amy Higginbotham made some general announcements about the new club survey and that membership fees were due.  Cindi Rutledge was announced as Athlete of the Month for March.  Read more about her accomplishments in the Athlete of the Month spotlight in the April newsletter.  Amy welcomed and introduced our new members and visitors Tammy Clavy, George Rankin, Andrew Pomeroy, and Ryan Diehl.

We were honored to have Brett Daniels, a Sport Factory coach and a founding member of NAMC, join us for our duathlon and transition clinic.  Most members had never raced a duathlon and were very interested in the differences between how to prepare and race a duathlon versus a triathlon.  Click on read more to read about the differences Brett went over.
