What a busy couple of months May and June were! Lots of racing, placing, training, and socializing among your Tri friends. Our June meeting at The Sport Factory was great and full of some good "race saving" tricks from Curtis Henry of Cannon Cyclery. I also want to welcome the new faces and thank those that attended.  

July Meeting - Thursday, July 7th Our next club meeting on Yoga for Triathletes will be at Roswell Area Park and will include a drawing for one free female race entry to the 5150 Lake Lanier.

We are planning a club outing to the Braves game on Saturday July, 30th at 7:10PM.  It has been several years since we had a club outing to the Braves game and we hope to see you there.

Thursday, Jul 7th - July Meeting YOGA!!! Bring your yoga mats! Our guest speaker,  Yoga Instructor Anne Olsen, will lead us in a short restorative yoga session after our normal announcements. Please bring your yoga mats if you have them and join us on the 7th! We will also have a race entry to give away for one of our female triathletes for the 5150 Lake Lanier race.

Congratulations to our May Athlete of the month Katie Pothier!  
Katie's Recent highlights include an Age Group Win at the Turtle Crawl Duathlon in Jekyll Island, GA in May. She also received 3rd in her Age Group at Irongirl Atlanta and competed in the Warrior Dash on that same weekend!

Many of us also know Katie for her determination, signing up for an Ironman before she ever even competed in her first Olympic distance triathlon.  

Katie is a very active member of the club and leads the Sunday Runday every week.

Go Katie!
We wish her the best of luck as she prepares for her Second Ironman in Madison, Wisconsin on September 11th.

Jim Rainey of Georgia Multisports has asked for our assistance with two upcoming races. Giving back to our sports is best ways we can contribute to the health of triathlon.

July 10th - The first opportunity is right around the corner at My First Bike Kids Tri.  I have worked at and cheered at at least 60 races over the last four years and none were as fun or rewarding as Ironkids.  Jim needs our help with as many people as we can provide.  You can volunteer with the Registration on Saturday, July 9th or the Race on Sunday, July 10th.

September 11th - The other event is the Marine Corp 5150 Lake Lanier Olympic distance Tri.  It's the inaugural event for this race and should be great to have an Olympic distance race close by.
